Over
the past week or two, we have seen a flurry of ads coming from the GOP claiming
(bizarrely) that they are defenders of healthcare. For years, healthcare has
been the issue at the forefront of the minds of most Americans. The Republican
Party is now trying to capitalize on this with deceitful healthcare propositions.
Let’s
be clear; Here is my plan for healthcare reform in America:
·
Add a public Medicare buy-in option
at age 55
·
Fully fund and reauthorize the
Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
·
Legalize medicinal marijuana
·
Allow Medicare to negotiate drug
prices with pharmaceutical companies
·
Pass a $1 trillion infrastructure
reform act that includes funding for hospitals in rural regions
·
Require insurance plans cover 12-month
supplies of birth control
·
Allow Americans to cross the border
into Canada to purchase medicine
·
Pass legislation that allows
Americans to keep their doctors under any changes in the US healthcare system
·
Pass legislation that sets the stage
to implement and pay for a universal, Medicare-for-All healthcare system by
2028
And
here is the GOP plan:
·
Legalize discrimination against
pre-existing conditions
·
Refuse to expand Medicaid in most red
states, leaving their residents without care
·
Repeal the Affordable Care Act
·
Allow healthcare providers to
discriminate against minorities
·
Create an avenue for healthcare
prices to skyrocket
You
do the math. My plan is better for America on healthcare. Once I am
elected, I will fight in Congress to pass legislation that expands the scope of
health coverage, not shrinks it. Don’t believe the GOP lies, and don’t let them
cover their tracks. Vote Democrat on November 6th, and donate to campaigns that will fight
for accessible healthcare for everyone.
