MAJOR VICTORY TODAY!!
Following Pressure from Advocates, JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Chase Stops Financially Backing Private Prisons and Detention Centers! The country has seen the images of humans in cages and heard the cries of children begging to be reunited with their parents. Our immigration enforcement system is cruel and inhumane. Providing financial backing to this industry is not and has never been morally defensible.
Today we are ecstatic to announce that after years of constant pressure from us and our amazing affiliates like Make the Road NY, New York Communities for Change, Make the Road Connecticut, Make the Road Pennsylvania, Make the Road New Jersey, and Make the Road Pennsylvania, JPMorgan Chase has decided to listen to our demands and end its harmful practice of financially backing private prisons and immigrant detention centers. This is an incredible victory for immigrant communities and for our society as a whole.
We’ve shown you what is possible when we come together and demand justice, empathy and accountability from our corporate backers of hate and we couldn’t have won without your support.

With deep gratitude-
The CPD Action Team
